Almost time to meet the world...

It's been awhile since I have written in here.  I have been pretty busy growing and developing in Mommy's belly.  I am getting pretty big now, around 6 pounds and I am pretty long.  I like to stretch out a lot in Mom's tummy and swim around.  I like to keep occupied so I don't get bored in here.  Sometimes I feel Mommy patting me or rubbing her belly.  I think she is excited to see me soon.  Daddy also said he can't wait to meet me.  He said that I need to come out and be loved :)  I think I will be very loved, because I can hear a lot of people asking about me.  They all want to know if I am a boy or a girl, but guess what?  I'm not telling!!!  They also want to know my name.  Well, Mommy and Daddy have some ideas.  Right now, only God and I know my name.  Pretty soon everyone will find out too.  I bet I will get lots of yellow, brown and green clothes.  All I really care is that I am warm and happy.  I think I will also be really hungry and tired when I come out.  I won't get to sleep as much as I do in here.  It's nice and dark and warm inside Mommy's belly.  I may just stay here awhile longer.  But I may get bored and come out and meet the world.  I haven't decided quite yet...

Karate moves

Mommy found out recently that I've been moving around in here!  I like to move my legs a lot.  I guess I must kick mommy, because she keeps saying I am her little Karate Kid.  I'm not sure what karate is, but it sounds fun.  Mommy likes to move around a lot too.  I think we must have gone back to ballet again this week, because we did a lot of turns and jumps.  I like bouncing up and down.
Sometimes mommy stops moving for a long time.  I tapped her a little bit with my foot just to make sure she was ok!  After awhile she starts to make loud sounds.  Daddy says she snores or something like that.  I may have to move around more just to make the sounds stop.
I can't wait to sleep in my new room when I am born.  Mommy said it is green and I have a pretty crib to sleep in.  Daddy is hoping we get the bed set we registered for with animals on it.  He keeps saying he likes the squirrels.  Squirrels must be a fun animal.  Well, I better get back to playing...

Dance Class

Today was a relatively calm day.  I've been getting a lot bigger lately.  I can tell, because I keep coming to the end of my bubble and then it gets bigger.  So it was nice that Mommy took it easy on me and let me relax for awhile.  But then, later in the day, we went somewhere.  Mommy walked around and then I heard a loud noise, then we were walking down something and I could hear lots of noises.  Then Mommy got into something and it made a noise.  A little while later, she got back out again and we walked a bit.  I could hear her taking off her shoes and putting on other ones.  Then we started moving.  Up and down.  Slowly at first, but then we were turning too.  In circles!  She might not get dizzy, but I sure did. And then the jumping started.  First just a couple, then we were jumping all around.  I felt like I was on a pogo stick.  Up. Down. Up. Down.  Turn.  Holy Cow! I think I got as much of a workout as she did.  And then we walked and got in something and a little bit later I finally got to lay down.  Mommy, what did you do to me?

What's going on out there?

Mommy sure has been moving around a lot.  Last weekend, she kept moving around really fast.  She kept talking about a Famine.  I'm not sure exactly what that is, but it sounded like some people weren't going to be eating for awhile.  This sent me into a panic, because, I love food!  I was thinking, "Mommy, there is no way you can stop eating..."  I think she must have heard me, because I got some pizza on Friday and then a sandwich the next day.  I breathed a sigh of relief...wait, can I breathe yet?  I'm not sure, but if I can I'm sure that I did.  And then there was all that moving around again.  I think Mommy was laying down, but she kept moving from side to side.  It kind of felt good, like I was rocking or something, but at the same time, it was like, "Enough already!"  I think maybe she was trying to sleep.  I could hear a loud noise coming from other people around her.  I think she said something about snoring.  I'm not sure what that is, but I know it is loud.  I am pretty sure Mommy does it too.  Daddy is always tapping Mommy to wake up in the middle of the night after I hear those loud sounds.  So, that was my weekend.  I panicked about not eating, got moved all around and then had to listen to everybody snoring.  Can't a baby get some peace and quiet around here?

Hello, it's me!

I've been around for about 16 weeks now and Mommy says that everyone knows about me, so I wanted to say hi too!  Mommy says technology is a big deal right now, so I thought I would take over her blog for awhile and let everyone know what I'm up to.  Right now I am about four inches long and about the size of an apple.  Oooh apples, I think I'm hungry again....Mommy will be right back...

Listening for Jesus

Today I sat in my office and heard a lot of sounds.  In the morning I heard the rush of the frigid wind outside and the popping of my portable heater.  I heard the sounds of our preschool's Christmas pageant floating up from the Sanctuary.  In the office I heard phones ringing and copiers whirring and bulletins being typed up.  In the Fellowship Hall I listened to aging members of our congregation chatting during their annual Christmas lunch.  Now back to my office again I hear the ticking of the clock...Tick, Tick, Tick...

I am listening for Jesus in the midst of this Christmas season.  Sometimes I don't think I hear him at all, since everything else seems to be so LOUD.  But maybe Jesus is actually in some of these other noises.  He can be heard in the angelic voices of children.  He can be heard in the sounds of fellowship among believers.  He can be heard in the wind.

Maybe it's not so much that it's hard to find Jesus this time of year but that we aren't accustomed to his voice...
